WORLDS // ASTEROID FIELD // IN DESIGN

Asteroid Holdings

In design: the 50,000 asteroids of the Asteroid Field become ownable Asteroid Deeds. A held rock is a second base beside your plot. It grows from a waypost to a citadel built into the rock, carries buildings for lanes, escorts, repairs, storage, ship parts, intel, salvage and a Syndicate base, and is mined hollow until a hangar opens inside it.

01 // THE DEED // WHAT YOU WOULD HOLD

One rock, held to play

One named rock

An Asteroid Deed is an NFT, like an Aetheris Deed, for one rock in the Asteroid Field, chosen on the field map. Any Commander could hold one, with or without a plot.

Nothing hidden

Every rock's size class follows from its number and is published on the field map in advance, so nothing about a rock is hidden or random. The Quantum Scanner keeps its one secret: which rocks hold a Core Fragment.

A licence, not an investment

Like a plot, a Deed would be a licence to play. It earns nothing from other Commanders: the services it opens to them are free.

02 // SIZE CLASSES // FIVE KINDS OF ROCK

Slots are the choice

Every rock belongs to the belt of its nearest Field Station, about 10,000 rocks a belt. Its size class sets how many buildings it holds: a Shard carries one, so its owner picks one specialism; a Titan carries five.

The five size classes of asteroid, with how many rocks there are, their share of the field, their diameter and their building slots
CLASS ROCKS SHARE DIAMETER BUILDING SLOTS
Shard 25,000 50% 20-60 m 1
Boulder 15,000 30% 60-150 m 2
Bastion 7,500 15% 150-400 m 3
Colossus 2,450 4.9% 400 m-1 km 4
Titan 50 0.1% 1 km + 5

Titans are the field's 50 landmarks, ten in each station's belt. Each carries a name its owner chooses, and Titans go only to open auction, as the Tether plots do.

Small rocks hollow first: a Shard is dug out in about two weeks, a Titan in most of a year, in exchange for more slots and far more rock ore.

03 // THE ANCHOR // WAYPOST TO CITADEL

A base that grows

The Anchor is the rock's main structure, with levels 1 to 21 in three looks. It sets the rock's level, caps every other building and runs the drill that hollows the rock. Its levels are paid in composites from your own Commander, and build times are real: speed is never sold.

    DUG OUT

    Hollow

Once the drill has dug the rock out, the hangar door opens on a lit interior.

Rock ore, dug by the drill, is a building material only: it builds the rock's own buildings and never reaches a plot, a refinery, composites or a prize score. It can be given within your Syndicate, never sold or traded.

04 // BUILDINGS // ONE PER SLOT

Eight buildings and a hangar

One building per slot, one of each kind per rock, each capped at the Anchor's level.

Waymark

FOR THE OWNER
Adds your own lane through the field on every route from your station, and its lane report always reaches whoever flies it.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
From Anchor level 8 its lane can open to every Commander, free: a public service.

Escort Post

FOR THE OWNER
Berths Pickets at the rock to escort your convoys on your own lane.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
From Anchor level 8 its Pickets can escort other Commanders' convoys, free.

Dry Dock

FOR THE OWNER
Repair bays for your ships: cheaper repairs, and faster ones as it levels.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
Nothing: it is your own yard.

Ore Silo

FOR THE OWNER
Holds more hours of your plot's output at the station, so less waits or stalls while you are away.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
Nothing.

Workshop

FOR THE OWNER
Builds ship-system parts from your own composites: the one earned source of parts besides play.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
Builds parts for a Syndicate member's ship from that member's own composites.

Sensor Mast

FOR THE OWNER
The lane reports your Syndicate already reads reach you earlier, never with more in them.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
From Anchor level 8 it posts one more lane report on its station's routes to every Commander.

Salvage Yard

FOR THE OWNER
Collects wreckage from ambushes on its station's lanes as ship parts.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
Nothing.

Syndicate Berth

FOR THE OWNER
Makes the rock your Syndicate's base: members muster convoys there, and the roster shows on the rock.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
It belongs to the Syndicate, not to one member.

Hangar

FOR THE OWNER
Hollow rocks only, in a slot of its own: berths more ships, and is the showroom inside the rock.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE
Nothing.

05 // THE DOCTRINE // ROCK BUFFS

What a rock gives your account

Every rock carries a vein of one of the four ores: as its Anchor rises, your plots refine that ore a little better and your plot upgrades ask for a little less, for you and your Syndicate alone, and the Operational Performance Rating is worked out as if none of it existed.

The vein follows from the rock's number, like its size class, and is published on the field map: Tin, Lithium, Titanium or Tungsten.

WAYPOST // ANCHOR 1

Vein Bonus

Every plot you hold refines the rock's vein ore a little better: a bonus of its own, beside the plot's Refining Bonus. Plots only: the State Refinery stays at the base rate.

STATION // ANCHOR 8

Requisition Rebate

Plot upgrades built from the vein ore's composites ask for fewer of them. Never the Anchor, the rock's buildings, ship Marks or parts, and never a shorter build time.

SYNDICATE BERTH

Syndicate Standard

A rock with a Syndicate Berth lends a quarter of its Vein Bonus to every member's plots, free. A member takes the larger of their own bonus and the Standard, never both.

CITADEL // ANCHOR 15

Bulwark

The Citadel's plating stands in the rock's own defence when the Concord sweeps its belt, worked out with no dice. It protects the rock only, never a convoy.

From Anchor level 8 an owner sets each rock's Posture once a day, moving its strength between the Vein Bonus and the Rebate, never adding to it. A hollow rock runs every buff a tenth stronger, and so do all your rocks once you hold one of each vein at Anchor level 8 or more, with the title Four-Vein Commander.

A rock gives nothing until its Anchor is built, so all its strength comes from your own composites over real build times, and a Shard's buffs stay small until its Anchor is well into the Station levels. Only your best three rocks of a vein count, and a rock lifts a low-tier plot most, never a Core plot past its own ladder. Every buff is in design and may change.

06 // FAIR PLAY // WHAT A ROCK NEVER DOES

No money, no prize edge

  • NO MONEY, EVER

No USDC, no yield and no revenue share: a Deed would give no right to revenue, profit or treasury, and nothing it does would pay out money.

  • NOTHING FROM OTHER COMMANDERS

No tolls and no hire fees. Its open lane and public escorts are free; the owner gets the honour on the map and nothing more.

  • NO PRIZE EDGE

The Operational Performance Rating is worked out as if your rock had no effects open only to you or your Syndicate. A run on your own lane is scored as if it were flown on a standard lane.

  • SPEED AND CHANCES NEVER SOLD

Anchor and building levels, build time and rock ore are never sold, and nothing about a rock is random. Looks such as paint, beacon colours and signage would change how a rock looks, never what it does.

  • DORMANT SERVICES GO DARK

If an owner has not signed in for 14 days, the rock's public services switch off until they are back. The rock and its levels are never taken away.

07 // IN THE FIELD // DEFENCE AND DUTY

Held together

  • CONCORD SWEEPS

When the Concord sweeps a station's belt, owners and their Syndicates defend their rocks together. The outcome is worked out from the defence against the sweep's published strength, with no dice. A rock that falls loses only the ore waiting in its silo, and defenders earn Survey Charts that unlock new looks.

  • PUBLISHED STORMS

A meteor storm closes a belt's lanes for a shift. Storms are announced a week ahead, never random, and a Waymark at level 14 or more holds its lane open through one.

  • FIELD WORKS

An owner can offer a Citadel to host a Field Work the Nexus DACI picks for their station. The host gets the honour on the map, nothing else.

  • BELT WARDEN

The owners in a station's belt elect a Belt Warden each season, who can table one Land House proposal about that belt's lanes. One Commander, one vote, however many rocks they hold.
